2019 AND NEWER YAMAHA BOAT LIMITED WARRANTY
Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. and Yamaha Motor Canada, Ltd. ("Yamaha") hereby warrant that new model year 2019 and newer Yamaha Boats ("Yamaha Boat") purchased from an authorized Yamaha Boat Dealer in the 50 U.S. states and Canada and registered for use in the 50 U.S. states and Canada ("Date of Original Purchase") will be free from defects in materials or workmanship for the period of time stated herein, subject to certain stated limitations.
PERIOD OF STRUCTURAL LIMITED WARRANTY:
The hull and deck on any new Yamaha Boat shall be warranted against major structural defects in material or workmanship: (i) for the duration of ownership of the first retail owner for personal, family or household use ("Pleasure Use"); or (ii) for one (1) year from Date of Original Purchase for Yamaha Boats engaged in commercial trade or that carry passengers for hire ("Commercial Use").
PERIOD OF ENGINE LIMITED WARRANTY:
The engine, engine related components, jet pump and jet drive pump related components (collectively defined as "Engine") shall be warranted against defects in material or workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the Date of Original Purchase for both Pleasure Use and Commercial Use.
PERIOD OF COMPONENT LIMITED WARRANTY:
All other Yamaha Boat components, except for components covered under the Structural Limited Warranty and the Engine Limited Warranty, will be warranted against defects in material or workmanship, for a period of three (3) years from Date of Original Purchase for Pleasure Use, or for a period of ninety (90) days for Commercial Use.
PERIOD OF COSMETIC LIMITED WARRANTY:
Imperfections in the exterior cosmetic gelcoat finish (cracks, crazing, mold marks, etc.) and upholstery on a Yamaha Boat shall be warranted for a period of one (1) year from the Date of Original Purchase for both Personal and Commercial Use.
STRUCTURAL LIMITED WARRANTY TRANSFERABILITY FOR PLEASURE USE ONLY:
The structural limited warranty can be transferred to a second retail owner, during the first ten (10) years after the Date of Original Purchase by the original retail owner, for Pleasure Use. After the transfer, the duration of the limited warranty shall be for a period of ten (10) years from the Date of Original Purchase. To transfer the warranty from the original purchaser to the subsequent owner, the Yamaha Boat must be inspected and the warranty registration transferred, by an authorized Yamaha Boat dealer, within ten (10) days after the second retail owner's purchase. The transfer of the warranty is effective upon the date Yamaha receives electronic or written notice of the transfer, by an authorized Yamaha Boat dealer. The warranty may only be transferred once to the second retail owner. Transfer of the Structural Limited Warranty is not permitted for Commercial Use Yamaha Boats.
ENGINE, COMPONENT AND COSMETIC LIMITED WARRANTY TRANSFERABILITY:
The engine, component and cosmetic warranty, can be transferred from the first retail owner to a second retail owner, provided the original retail owner's warranty time period has not expired. The time period of the transferred warranty shall only be the time period remaining upon the date of transfer, and in no event shall the transfer of a warranty extend the original warranty time period. To transfer the warranty from the original purchaser to the subsequent owner, the Yamaha Boat must be inspected and the warranty registration transferred, by an authorized Yamaha Boat dealer, within ten (10) days after the second retail owner's purchase. The transfer of the warranty is effective upon the date Yamaha receives electronic or written notice of the transfer, by an authorized Yamaha Boat dealer. The warranty may only be transferred once to the second retail owner.
OBTAINING REPAIRS UNDER WARRANTY:
During the period of warranty, Yamaha, any of its authorized representatives, or any authorized Yamaha Boat dealer, in the country of residence, will, free of charge, repair or replace, at Yamaha's option and sole discretion, any parts adjudged defective by Yamaha due to faulty workmanship or material from the factory provided the owner return the Yamaha Boat, with transportation prepaid to an authorized Yamaha dealer or any other reasonable place designated by Yamaha. Should Yamaha elect (within their sole discretion) to replace the entire Yamaha Boat, the replacement boat shall be subject to the remaining duration and conditions of this limited warranty and not be subject to an extended or new warranty unless otherwise provided for by both parties in writing. The liability of Yamaha shall in no event exceed the actual cash value of the covered item. The Yamaha Boat owner shall be responsible for all transportation, haulouts, loss of time, inconvenience, travel expense, loss of use, launch, towing, storage and other expenses incurred in returning the Yamaha Boat for warranty service. All parts replaced under warranty will become the property of Yamaha.
CUSTOMER'S RESPONSIBILITY:
Under the terms of this limited warranty, the customer will be responsible for ensuring that the Yamaha Boat is properly operated, maintained, and stored as specified in the applicable Owner's Manual.
The owner of the Yamaha Boat shall give notice to Yamaha, or its authorized representative, or Yamaha Boat dealer of any and all apparent defects within ten (10) days of discovery and make the boat available as directed for inspection and/or repairs.
GENERAL EXCLUSIONS FROM WARRANTY:
This limited warranty will not cover the repair of damages to your Yamaha Boat caused by abuse, alteration, modification, neglect, vandalism, failure to adhere to product capacity information and/or product maintenance, care instructions, and/or other items listed below. Examples of damage caused by abuse, alteration, modifications, neglect, vandalism, non-adherence and other items include, but are not limited to the following:
- Racing or competition use, modification of original parts, abnormal strain.
- Lack of proper maintenance and off season storage as described in the Owner's Manual.
- Use of lubricants, oils, and fuel/oil mixtures that are not suitable for marine engine use.
- Damage as a result of accidents, collisions, contact with foreign materials, or submersion.
- Damage caused by growth of marine organisms.
- Damage caused by exposure to the elements and other deterioration resulting from normal wear and tear.
- Gel coat stress cracks caused by impact.
- Blisters in the gel coat.
- Acts of God or force majeure.
- Dealer preparation, including but not limited to cleaning and adjustments or alignments in preparing the boat for final delivery.
- Window breakage.
- Deterioration caused by the use of cleaners or chemicals or anti-fouling paint not recommended in writing by Yamaha.
- Installation of accessories installed by anyone other than Yamaha or an authorized Yamaha dealer.
- Upholstery damage including, canvas, zippers, vinyl, plastics, fabric, trim wood (with the exception of rot); or rips, tears, and fading to carpets and upholstery.
- Damage caused by improper use of the trailer.
- Damage caused by improper winter storage.
- Damage resulting from non-compliance with Yamaha's maintenance and care instructions or other specifications.
- Galvanic or stray current corrosion, or corrosion caused by salt or brackish water.
- Damage to colorfastness of materials caused by overexposure to the sun or improper covering and storage.
- Failure of the Yamaha Boat to meet any representation as to the Yamaha Boat's performance characteristics, including but not limited to estimated speed, weight of the Yamaha Boat, or fuel consumption.
- Failure or defect caused by repair made by a Yamaha dealer not authorized as a Yamaha Boat dealer, unless Yamaha pre-approved the work in writing.
- Damage caused by engines, jet pumps or jet pump components, controls, batteries, trailers, electric trolling motors, fish/depth finding devices, canvas, wakeboard tower, other equipment or accessories not manufactured by Yamaha whether or not warranted by other such manufacturer.
- Items, equipment or accessories on the Yamaha Boat or provided with the Yamaha Boat that are not manufactured by Yamaha, except as otherwise provided in this limited warranty or agreed to by both YMUS/YMCA and owner, in writing.
SPECIFIC PARTS EXCLUDED FROM WARRANTY:
Parts replaced due to normal wear or routine maintenance such as, but not limited to, oil, spark plugs, fuel filters, impeller and liner, and anodes are not covered by warranty.
PERIOD OF EMISSION CONTROL LIMITED WARRANTY (U.S. only) - Yamaha warrants to the ultimate purchaser and any subsequent owner, that the exhaust emission control components on this engine are designed, built and equipped so as to conform at the time of sale with applicable regulations under section 213 of the Clean Air Act and that PWC engines used in Yamaha boats are free from defects in materials and workmanship which cause said engines to fail to conform with applicable regulations for thirty (30) months from the date of purchase or 175 hours of operation, whichever comes first. For the inboard-classified engines used in Yamaha boats, this warranty period is three (3) years from date of purchase or 480 hours whichever comes first. For evaporative emission components, for a failure that will increase evaporative emissions, the warranty coverage is two (2) years from the date of purchase. Some states may have different emission control warranty provisions. As these vary from state to state, consult your Yamaha dealer or contact Yamaha Customer Relations at 1-800-962-7926 for more information.
YAMAHA MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE WHICH EXCEED THE OBLIGATIONS AND LIMITS STATED IN THIS WARRANTY ARE HEREBY DISCLAIMED BY YAMAHA AND EXCLUDED FROM THIS WARRANTY.
ALL YAMAHA BOATS PURCHASED AND/OR REGISTERED FOR USE OUTSIDE THE 50 U.S. STATES AND CANADA ARE SOLD AS IS; NOTHING ELSE IS PROMISED OR IMPLIED.
SOME STATES/PROVINCES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES INCLUDING LOSS OF USE, LOSS OF TIME, AND INCONVENIENCE. YAMAHA'S LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO REPAIRING OR REPLACING THE YAMAHA BOAT AS PROVIDED IN THIS WARRANTY. SOME STATES/PROVINCES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. SO THE ABOVE EXCLUSION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS WHICH VARY FROM STATE TO STATE OR PROVINCE TO PROVINCE.
THIS DOCUMENT CONTAINS THE ENTIRE WARRANTY GIVEN BY YAMAHA AND THERE ARE NO TERMS, PROMISES, CONDITIONS OR WARRANTIES OTHER THAN THOSE CONTAINED HEREIN. NO ORAL OR WRITTEN INFORMATION OR ADVANCE GIVEN BY YAMAHA, ITS DEALERS, REPRESENTATIVES, AGENTS OR EMPLOYEES SHALL CREATE A WARRANTY BY YAMAHA OR IN ANY WAY INCREASE THE SCOPE OF THIS WARRANTY.

PRE-2019 SPORT BOAT WARRANTY POLICY
In this warranty, the term SPORT BOAT shall refer to a new water vehicle manufactured by the YAMAHA MOTOR COMPANY, LTD. ("MANUFACTURER") under the trade name of Yamaha, distributed by YAMAHA MOTOR CANADA LTD. ("YAMAHA"), sold at retail by an authorized YAMAHA dealer ("DEALER"), and normally operated within Canada and registered in Canada. The term CUSTOMER shall refer to the owner or lessee of record of the SPORT BOAT registered with YAMAHA and to any subsequent owner, and the term DELIVERY shall refer to the date of delivery of the SPORT BOAT from the DEALER to the CUSTOMER.
Section A - Warranty
Subject to Section E, YAMAHA offers the following warranty coverage to the CUSTOMER:
- The period of warranty shall be five (5) years commencing on DELIVERY on the hull and deck of all SPORT BOAT purchased for pleasure or government use;
- The period of warranty shall be one (1) year commencing on DELIVERY on the hull and deck of all SPORT BOATS purchased for commercial use;
- The period of warranty shall be one (1) year commencing on DELIVERY on all other components of all SPORT BOATS purchased for pleasure use or government use;
- The period of warranty shall be ninety (90) days commencing on DELIVERY on all other components of all SPORT BOATS purchased for commercial use;
- Any part defective by reason of the MANUFACTURER'S faulty workmanship or material will be replaced or repaired free of charge;
- Any repairs and adjustments made necessary by reason of the MANUFACTURER'S faulty workmanship or material will be performed free of charge.
Note Commercial applications include, but are not necessarily limited to rental outlets.
The MANUFACTURER reserves the right to change the design of any model without obligation to modify any model previously manufactured.
Section B - Subsequent Owner
The warranty set forth in Section A may be transferred to any subsequent owner provided that the period of warranty has not expired and that the CUSTOMER has complied with all terms and conditions of this warranty. The subsequent owner has the responsibility for ensuring that a change of registration is sent to YAMAHA at the time of such transfer of ownership.
This transfer must be done by contacting the DEALER who will forward the following information to YAMAHA:
- the complete model and serial number as shown on the original warranty document;
- the name of the previous owner;
- the original delivery date of the SPORT BOAT;
- the complete name and address of the subsequent owner;
- the indication that the subsequent owner has received and read the owner's manual and this warranty policy.
Section C - Obtaining Repairs Under WarrantyTo obtain repairs under warranty, the CUSTOMER must:
- Ensure that the SPORT BOAT is properly operated, maintained and stored as specified in the Owner's Manual;
- Give notice to a DEALER of any and all apparent defects immediately upon discovery, and make the SPORT BOAT available at that time for inspection and repair at the DEALER'S place of business;
- Provide proof of warranty coverage to such DEALER (CUSTOMER'S copy of the New Vehicle Information Statement: N.V.I.S.);
- Authorize the DEALER to tear down the SPORT BOAT for diagnostic evaluation should it be required.
All warranty repairs must be done by a DEALER and final approval of any repairs rests with YAMAHA. All parts replaced become the property of YAMAHA.
Section D - Exclusions - This warranty does not apply unless:
- The SPORT BOAT has been fully assembled and set to the MANUFACTURER'S operating specifications by a DEALER prior to DELIVERY to the CUSTOMER;
- The CUSTOMER has followed the break-in and storage instructions and all other instructions contained in the Owner's Manual, and all other instructions in the Owner's Manual;
- The CUSTOMER can provide record of maintenance having been performed as recommended in the Owner's Manual;
- Requests for repairs under warranty have been made as prescribed in Section C.
- This warranty does not cover the repair of damage resulting from abuse or neglect of the SPORT BOAT. Examples of abuse and neglect include, but are not limited to:
- Racing, competition use, modification of original parts, abnormal strain;
- Use of lubricants, oils and fuel/oil mixtures other than those recommended in the Owner's Manual, improperly installed accessories or use of parts or accessories that are not equivalent in design and quality to genuine Yamaha parts;
- Damage as a result of accidents, collisions, contact with foreign materials, impact, submersion or use of the SPORT BOAT after discovery of a defect;
- Appearance-related damages of body parts. Examples of such damages include but are not limited to: scratches, dents, fading, flaking, peeling.
- This warranty does not extend to:
- Growth of marine organisms on jet pump/motor or on hull surfaces;
- SPORT BOATS which have been modified in any way from the standard specifications as shown in the Owner's Manual;
- Gel coat/paint finish, blisters, cracks or crazing;
- Normal wear and tear, corrosion and routine maintenance, such as the recommended service inspections;
- SPORT BOATS from which the MANUFACTURER'S identification numbers have been removed, or whose identification numbers have been altered or mutilated;
- Pre-delivery inspection, assembly;
- Wear and tear, and/or maintenance parts, such as oil and lubricants, spark plugs, hubs, fuel and oil filters, brushes for the starter motor, pump impellers, liners, impeller housing, sacrificial anodes;
- Inconvenience, loss of time, loss of income or loss of use of the SPORT BOAT or any consequential damage of any kind;
- Transporting the SPORT BOAT to and from a DEALER'S premises;
- Haul-out, launch or storage costs;
- Damages from theft, fire, vandalism, explosion, water or acts of God.
Section E
This warranty is in addition to, and not a modification of, any warranty required by the laws of any province of Canada.
Subject to any applicable sales or consumer legislation, the above warranty is in lieu of any warranty or representation, express or implied, including any warranty of performance, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose on the part of YAMAHA, and any other obligation or liability on behalf of YAMAHA, and the above warranty constitutes your sole remedy and the full liability of YAMAHA. In no event shall YAMAHA be liable for special, incidental or consequential damages howsoever caused, whether by negligence or otherwise resulting directly or indirectly from the use of the SPORT BOAT, or the SPORT BOAT'S having replacement parts or the unavailability of replacement parts. YAMAHA does not assume or authorize any person to create or assume for YAMAHA any obligation or liability in connection with the SPORT BOAT or any part thereof distributed by YAMAHA.
