Summary of Responsibilities

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be responsible to support organizational growth, goals and workforce requirements by acquiring top talent and fostering a positive experience for both candidates and hiring teams.



Key Duties & Responsibilities

    Full Cycle Recruitment

  • Execute Yamaha’s recruitment strategy to attract talent for active and future opportunities by leading the full-cycle recruitment process (posting to onboarding) for roles at all levels across a variety of business functions.
  • Leverage innovative sourcing techniques to identify and engage passive candidates through various channels, including but not limited to LinkedIn, job boards, social media, networking, referrals, and other niche industry platforms.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline for future staffing needs.
  • Assist with onboarding and orientation processes to ensure a seamless transition for new hires.

  • Metrics, KPIs and Documentations

  • Maintain and provide regular reports on hiring progress, recruitment KPIs and market trend insights.
  • Ensure all records and documentation for talent management activities are accurate and up to date, maintaining data integrity.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements based on insights and career/industry best practices to improve our recruitment practices and process.

  • Talent & Brand Strategies

  • Strong working knowledge of Canadian employment standards and other applicable employment laws (e.g. pay transparency), industry trends and best practices in talent acquisition. Stay up to date on changes to employment legislations.
  • Represent the company as an employer of choice in all candidate interactions. Assist in defining and executing our employee value proposition and talent brand identity. Enhance our sourcing techniques to target core roles with Sales, Customer Service, Finance, Marketing, IT.
  • Utilize social media and other platforms to deploy our employer branding strategies.
  • Support branding initiatives, including attending job fairs and networking events on an ad-hoc basis.

  • Relationship building and Communications

    Be a Subject Matter Expert in hiring managers and candidates by:

  • Guiding through each phase of the recruitment process and pivoting as needed.
  • Ensuring alignment and effective communication throughout the recruitment process.
  • Coaching and training hiring managers on recruitment best practices.
  • Managing the candidate experience providing timely communication, setting clear expectations and providing feedback.
  • Host internal recruitment sessions to assist hiring managers in deploying our talent brand identity.


Education Requirements and/or Experience Requirements

  • Degree/Diploma: College or University Degree preferred
  • Program of Study: Human Resources, Business or related field
  • Years of Experience: 4+ years of experience
  • Type of Experience: Recruitment

Skills & Abilities

  • Prior recruitment experience is mandatory, with proven track record of growing, engaging and executing recruitment strategies and KPI
  • Proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems (ADP Recruitment) and other recruitment tools (e.g. LinkedIn)
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislations across Canada
  • Highly organized with a high degree of urgency to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to recruit at the various levels of the organization
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner, (verbal and written communication)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming recruitment challenges
