Four years ago, I embarked on an incredible journey with Yamaha Snowmobiles. Being part of something so special has truly been a phenomenal experience.

When I first joined Yamaha Snowmobiles, I was filled with excitement and nerves. Working with such a renowned brand was both thrilling and a bit daunting. But from day one, I was welcomed with open arms by a community of passionate and dedicated individuals who shared my love for snowmobiling.

One of the coolest things I got to experience was listening to all the Yamaha Snowmobile stories from past and current employees, new fans and life-long owners. The stories opened my eyes to how deep the Yamaha DNA goes in the snowmobiling industry. Each story had a unique adventure filled with the thrill of speed, the beauty of snowy landscapes and the joy of riding with your family and friends.

Travelling to Hay Days every September we met many familiar Yamaha fans who would stop by to say hello including Margie, who put over 160,000 miles on a few Apex’s she owned over the years. The coolest part, she documented every ride in a photo book including everything from gas milage, trail reviews, restaurant orders and loads of photos.

Another Hay Days hero was an incredible gentleman named Don Tompson. He was a HUGE Yamaha fan. The first year I met him he told me about a Yamaha tennis racket in his collection. Of course I had no clue Yamaha ever made tennis racket. A full 365 days later, Don came to Hay Days with his racket. Don passed away in April of 2024 so in his memory we did a “Share Your Yamaha Story” at Hay Days that year where his good friend Danny shared a few of Don’s stories to the crowd. He was an amazing man and was always a Yamaha fan. He will be remembered fondly by the whole Yamaha Snowmobiles team.

If you’re in the industry, you know of a “secret” meeting in Montana where all snowmobile manufacturers gather for media to test unreleased snowmobiles. The force behind this event is Marge who is an icon and takes no fuss. She keeps over 100 people organized and safe during their three days of testing. Marge herself was a sled head who Yamaha owes many thanks to for her years of dedication to the industry.

The man, the myth and the guy that now owns the Final Legend. ProStockBenji. An Ontario farmer who won our auction with a final bid of $235,000 to win the last SRX! A Yamaha fan his whole life with a collection that left me speechless. Personally, I think he is the perfect person to be the keeper of the final SRX. Someone who has spent many hours on snow aboard a Yamaha, surrounded by family and friends, a true collector and a passionate YamaFan.

I will never be able to put into words how lucky I feel to have been part of this final year with Yamaha Snowmobiles. It is sad to be exiting the industry after 57 years but I’m grateful that I got to spend the last four years meeting so many incredible people and experiencing the passion in this sport.

Thank you, it truly has been a pleasure.
